Winter Wonderland

On Tuesday I did something really out of the ordinary. I picked up the kids from school, pulled into the garage, and then...gasp... the kids and I went straight to play in the snow. I admit that I can be a bit rigid when it comes to the after school schedule and I like to have everything done before any type of "playing" happens, whether it be with friends, sporting practice, or video games. It's not difficult, just a quick snack, homework, pick up bedroom, then a quick chore and boom, you're done.

But Tuesday was one of those glorious winter days, you know those kind of days when the air isn't so cold you're miserable and the snow is the perfect consistency for snowballs, snowmen, and sledding and you can play for hours before you even feel the cold. So the messy house and homework all had to wait because Tuesday we just HAD to play in the snow.

Christmas 2008

Group hug thanking each other for the sibling gifts they got for one another...rare moment...had to capture it for proof that they do love each other!

First thing Christmas morning the kids (Dax) went to see that the food and milk was eaten. Then he read the letters that were left by Santa, Rudolph, and Frosty. He had written to all three of them in school this year and left them by the tree and was THRILLED that they all answered him back!

Hailey didn't get the puppy she wanted (mean, mean parents...uh... Santa) but was happy with her new digital camera, boots, books, movie, watch. etc...

Gage was excited for his Air Hogs Battling Helicopters, iCoaster, Wii game, books, etc.

Dax got what was on his list which was the U-Command Wall-E! He also got Pictureka, books, Tech Decks, Indiana jones Lego Wii game, etc.

Oh and Tom got Rock Band 2 and another guitar so now we can have 4 players rocking out at once!

After a quick battery run to Albertson's (shame on you for being open on Christmas...but thank you!) we played with toys for awhile and then headed to grandma and grandpa's for Christmas dinner.

Dax turned 7 on December 9. He had a friend party the Saturday before and we had 12 little kids at the house to help him celebrate. We had pizza and cupcakes, opened presents, and then played balloon games. It was another successful birthday party.

Later that night we had family over to help him celebrate family-style! Both sets of grandparents came and most of Dad's brother's and sister's. Happy Birthday Bubba!

One Magic Christmas

Hailey is part of the Scera Youth Theater group and this December they put on a program called One Magic Christmas. It was such a fun program made up of many Christmas songs and dances and she did such a great job! We appreciated seeing so many family members come to support her and join in the Christmas festivities.

Decorating the House & Tree

Here are pics of the house and tree decorated for Christmas. As the kids are getting older it is nice that the tree is decorated more evenly and higher up!

The house looks a lot better with it snow-covered! Christmas lights just aren't the same without snow!

Dinner at LaCaille

Hailey had a wonderful opportunity in November to go to dinner at La Caille with her entire French class. They took the bus up there after school and got to sit down for a classy dinner of real French food. Anyone who knows how picky of an eater Hailey is will know that she was not thrilled for the eating portion of this evening but was excited to go with her friends to the fanciest restaurant she has ever been to!

November 20th

I turned another year older on November 20th. I received some beautiful flowers from my sweet husband and had a wonderful day with my family. More gray hair and wrinkles prove it...and what's that...an age spot...on my face! Yikes! I can't stop it!

Raking the Leaves

Nothing like a little fun raking leaves!
